IDC began educating physicians and other prescribers more than 20 years ago. Health plans soon took notice of how proper prescriber education could reduce their pharmacy spend, while simultaneously improving the health and wellbeing of their members.

President – Rance Hutchings received his Doctor of Pharmacy degree (PharmD) from the University of Washington in 2000. His expertise in pharmacoeconomics has helped IDC clients save millions of dollars annually on unnecessary pharmacy costs. He served from 2001-2003 as a member of the U.S. Department of Defense’s Pharmacy & Therapeutics Committee and on a national advisory panel for an eight-year term from 2003-2011. He has a passion for teaching and has taught as an adjunct professor in both undergraduate and graduate university courses (RN programs, nurse practitioner programs, and community health). In 2018 he obtained his advanced practice license/pharmacist clinician (PhC) license through the University of New Mexico, where he has subsequently specialized in behavioral health and men’s health.

Vice President – Steve Hutchings received his Doctor of Pharmacy degree (PharmD) from Idaho State University in 1995. As an inpatient pharmacy specialist, he brought quality of care to the forefront of IDC’s services portfolio when he joined his brother, Rance, as a partner in 2004. His passion for training the next generation of healthcare leaders continues as he serves as a rotation site instructor for five universities.
